Area of Effect Shape: A circle of game effect spread over a flat plane, typically a floor, wall, or ceiling. The center of the circle is a roughly 5’ diameter space of the Spellcaster’s choosing, which serves as the target when determining the spell’s range modifier. The Plane shape is typically only used for spells that coat a surface, such as a coating of ice, grease, or water.
